Tia is the Research Coordinator at the IBRC. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Women's Studies from Florida International University and is originally from Massachusetts. Her research interests focus mainly on suicide prevention and the treatment of self-injurious behaviors in adolescents. Currently, she is interested in the role social media plays in influencing suicidal thoughts and self-injurious behaviors.
Apart from academia, Tia enjoys writing, reading novels, and practicing yoga. As a new resident of North Carolina, she is trying a lot of new food and learning all about southern hospitality.
